The Southern African-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Southern Africa) has its headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa.


It is part of the global network of Chambers of Commerce Abroad with around 150 offices in more than 93 countries. Since its foundation in 1952, the AHK has played an important role in strengthening bilateral economic relations between Germany and Southern Africa, which comprises the SADC region. As a non-profit membership organisation, the AHK offers its members and non-members a comprehensive portfolio of services.

Johannesburg:

The Johannesburg office was founded in 1952 and is where the regional coordination and many of the competence centres are managed.

Cape Town:

The regional office in Cape Town was founded in 2000. The competence centres for sustainable energy and water management are based here. The office is responsible for the Eastern and Western Cape provinces.

The Durban regional office was founded in 2012. The office is responsible for the Kwa-Zulu Natal market with a focus on the food and agricultural machinery sectors.
