AERZEN is pleased to invite you to the second edition of the AERZEN Academy, a knowledge-sharing platform that brings together industry leaders, government representatives, engineers, consultants, academia and technology experts to address the sustainability challenges shaping key industrial sectors.
Following the successful inaugural edition in Dubai, focused on the decarbonization of the water and wastewater sector and held in partnership with AHK Dubai and the University of Wollongong in Dubai, with the endorsement of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy. AERZEN is proud to bring the Academy to Johannesburg with a special edition dedicated to the future of sustainable mining.
As global demand for critical minerals continues to accelerate, driven by the energy transition, rapid digitalization, the expansion of data centers and the growing adoption of clean technologies, the mining industry is playing an increasingly critical role in achieving global Net Zero ambitions. At the same time, mining companies are under growing pressure to improve resource efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, optimize water use and comply with increasingly stringent environmental and ESG requirements.
Developed in response to these industry trends, AERZEN Academy – Africa 2026 aims to support capacity building across the mining sector by equipping engineers and industry professionals with the knowledge and practical insights needed to design and operate more energy-efficient, resource-efficient and sustainable mining operations. The initiative also supports South Africa's vision of strengthening engineering capabilities to enhance the competitiveness, resilience and sustainability of its mining industry while aligning with evolving international standards.
Join us for a day of executive leadership, industry dialogue and certified professional training alongside government representatives, mining companies, engineering consultants and technology experts.
