German Day 2025 focused on the Critical Minerals Value Chains: Southern Africa's Role in the Global Energy Transition and took place on 4 February 2025 at Protea Hotel Cape Town Waterfront.

The event covered the following topics:  

  • Insights into Africa’s strategic role in the global energy transition. 
  • An expert panel discussion featuring industry leaders from Siemens, Traxys, Africa Finance Corporation, KfW IPEX, and Manganese Metal Company, who shared perspectives on investment, innovation, and policy challenges. 
  • Emerging trends and strategies for strengthening Southern Africa’s position in global mineral value chains.
