Chemical Operations Programme (COP): Project Asambe

The 12-month programme signifies a new approach to designing short programmes and courses that respond to immediate and long-term skills needs by training and retaining young talent. The project has attracted youth who are already paving the way for sustainable careers in the chemicals manufacturing sector through their dedication and workplace performance.

“Developed by the Durban Chemicals Cluster (DCC) in partnership with the AHK, Scientec Education and Training, with funding support from The Chemical Industries Education & Training Sector Authority (CHIETA), and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism of the State of Baden-Württemberg, Project Asambe is not just another tick-box learnership. It’s a game-changing, industry-driven training model that aims to build a reliable talent pipeline for the chemicals sector.” Says Rudi Van Niekerk (Regional General Manager: H&R South Africa)
