The Secretariat of the South African–German Energy Partnership (EP) invites you to a full-day in-person workshop on digitalisation opportunities in South Africa's energy sector, taking place in Cape Town on 06 May 2026.
The EP is a bilateral partnership between the Department of Electricity and Energy and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The partnership aims to support the development of sustainable energy systems by fostering enabling policy frameworks and facilitating strategic exchange between both countries. Its Secretariat is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The discussion will be anchored around the six opportunity areas:
You do not need to be working explicitly in one of these areas. If your work intersects with energy, data, infrastructure, or digital services, your perspective is encouraged and welcome.
The workshop is being organised by the EP Secretariat in partnership with Ernst & Young (EY), AHK Southern Africa, and UVU Africa. The workshop is free of charge. Travel and accommodation costs are not covered.
