Zambeef is a major vertically-integrated agribusiness in Zambia with a presence across the full value chain: from primary production to processing, distribution and retail. In addition to its dairy operations, Huntley Farm also houses key protein‑processing facilities. Zambeef operates both a beef abattoir and a chicken abattoir at the Chisamba Huntley site.
Pork Division – Through its Pork Division (Masterpork), Zambeef boasts one of the largest pig abattoir and pork-processing plants in Zambia. Masterpork delivers value-added cooked, smoked and processed meat products, helping meet domestic demand and strengthen food security.
“Our goal is to significantly reduce water consumption and associated costs, contribute to long-term sustainability, and derive benefit from expert guidance and hands-on support in order to enhance our water management practices.” Brina Himunzowa – Manager - Food Safety & Quality
"Our housing complex in Johannesburg currently relies on a single main meter, which we read manually to track overall water consumption. While we’ve already taken steps to reduce irrigation needs by introducing water-wise landscaping, we’re striving to manage our water use more effectively. At present, individual housing units don’t have separate meters, and residents are billed based on property size rather than actual consumption — a system that benefits some and disadvantages others. By participating in the WECISA Project, we’re taking the first step toward smart metering, improved leak detection, and more transparent, efficient water management for our entire community."
The East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ) is a leading industrial and investment hub in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, strategically positioned to attract and support globally competitive manufacturing enterprises. By integrating green building standards, promoting cleaner production technologies, and fostering innovation partnerships, the ELIDZ has become a model for sustainable industrial development in South Africa. Its holistic approach demonstrates how economic growth and environmental stewardship can be achieved in tandem, creating long-term value for investors, communities, and the broader regional economy.
“We are seeking out ways in which to improve water security for ourselves and our tenants through a number of water initiatives. By taking proactive measures now, we aim to ensure sustainable water management for our industrial zone, supporting both operational resilience and the long-term well-being of the surrounding community.”
