From 11 to 14 June 2025, the Competence Centre for Mining and Mineral Resources participated in the 20th edition of DRC Mining Week, exhibiting under the EU Pavilion. This key industry event brought together stakeholders from across the mining and mineral resources sector, highlighting opportunities for sustainable development and international cooperation in the DRC and across Africa.
This year, there was a strong German representation with 13 German companies and their local partners, showcasing innovative solutions and technologies for the mining sector. Their presence underscored Germany’s commitment to fostering long-term partnerships and contributing to the region’s economic growth through responsible mining practices.
The Deputy Head of Mission, Dr. Pascal Richter from the German Embassy in Kinshasa, and Ms. Bernadette Kalz from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), visited the AHK Information Stand. They engaged with German companies to explore collaborative opportunities and discuss strategic cooperation in the DRC’s mining sector.
A highlight of the week was a networking cocktail event hosted by Trust Merchant Bank (TMB), in collaboration with the German Embassy in Kinshasa and the Competence Centre for Mining and Mineral Resources. This gathering brought together German companies and local stakeholders, fostering dialogue, building relationships, and paving the way for future joint ventures.
