Mine Health and Safety Seminar
The Health and Safety Project is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). The project is about creating awareness of the Best practices in mine health and safety, the best available technologies for mine health and safety and creating awareness about the South Africa’s Mine Health and Safety Regulatory Framework. The first phase of the project is the 2018 publication based on best practices in the mining industry. The second phase is to host a series of Mine health and safety workshops and seminars in South Africa and the SADC region.
The Mining Industry Association of Southern Africa (MIASA) has partnered with the Southern-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, The Botswana Chamber of Mines and ISSA Mining in hosting a Mine Health and Safety Seminar on the 24th and 25th of July 2019 in Sowa Town (Botswana). The theme for the workshop will be: Technology, Innovation and leading practice in ensuring better H&S outcomes in the Minerals Sector.
