Dear Members & Associates in the Western Cape,
Welcome to our February 2013 issue of Cape NewsMail!
It’s been an eventful start into the year 2013. During our annual planning meeting in Johannesburg on 25th January 2013 it’s been confirmed that the Chamber’s Cape Town Office is extending its area of activities and responsibilities to the Eastern Cape. We are currently setting up a new database for the region and will host our first event with the East London IDZ and the representative of Lower Saxony in the region on 1st March in East London.
Our traditional “back to work lunch” took place on 1st February 2013 at Greenways Hotel and proved once again to be a fantastic networking opportunity for our members and partners in the Western Cape.
The French-SA Chamber and the German Chamber in Cape Town agreed to start some joint events again with topics that are of interest to all our European Members. The first event on BBBEE is scheduled for March. Invitations and Information will follow shortly.
A delegation of Politicians and Church Members from North Rhine Westphalia received a briefing on the renewable energy sector in South Africa on 6th February by the German Chamber, Heinrich Boell Foundation and Green Cape.
On 21st February we hosted a press conference on EMO – the world of metalworking- to be staged in Hannover from 16th – 21st September 2013.
Coming up this week is the delegation “AHK Geschaeftsreise” Solar/Photovoltaic and a delegation from the “Bayerische Landtag”.
Please save the date for this year’s Ball of HOPE on Saturday, 4th May 2013 at the Westin.
