Support research trip for German journalists to South Africa

12/05/2017 Miscellaneous News

In February 2018 a group of 12 German journalists will come to South Africa for a research trip. The focus of the trip lies on health, sustainability and the fight against poverty. We will mainly stay in and around Cape Town and Johannesburg. Mainly funded by the New Venture Fund (Gates Foundation) journalists.network is still looking for local partners - both for additional funding and also to visit interesting projects related to the trip’s focus.

Our participants work for media like Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, DER SPIEGEL, Süddeutsche Zeitung or the German Public Broadcasting like Deutschlandfunk or ARD and for regional media as well. For over 20 years journalists.network has organized research trips for young journalists abroad. Among others former sponsors have been Lufthansa, Allianz, Metro, Siemens but also the Konrad Adenauer Foundation or the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We provide sponsors with the possibility to meet the group during their trip in South Africa, for example to visit a project together. We are not able and can’t promise any media coverage - but you’ll get the attention of 12 journalists searching for a good story.
