Competence Centre: Corporate Social Responsibility

The Competence Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility started as a development partnership between eight German companies in South Africa, the Deutsche Gesellschaft Für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the SAGCC as founding members in 2011.  The centre provides practical support on SCR topics and acts as an information sharing platform to strengthen the social and ecological impact of CSR activities of participating companies. 

The CSRCC focuses on the sustainability of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and offers the following services:

  • To act as an information sharing platform 
  • Strategic planning/ consultancy services
  • To act as facilitator in collaborative projects
  • Skills development facilitation
  • Enterprise development facilitation

Kutlwanong Centre is a registered Section 21(not for profit) company providing tuition to boost the Maths and Science performance of Grade 10, 11 and 12 township and rural students. Our goal is to improve the quality of Maths and Science matric passes, enabling more black students to access bursaries, tertiary education and professional careers. Our programme is inspired by the vital roles that our beneficiaries can play in our economy after acquiring a sound education in Maths and Science. Our aim is to boost the talent pool of black professionals pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths related careers (STEM). In a decade, with 2300 Grade 12’s per year, to date we have produced:

  • 16 177 decent passes (50-100%)
  • 4455 Grade 12 distinctions in Maths and Science
